We Finally Have an Update for Ya’ll!

Last night the teen girls stayed the night with us. We had a blast! I teach them on Wednesday nights and have fallen in love with them. I love kids, even teenagers! Anyways, we watched “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”. Yes, I guess I just felt like I needed a good cry! I’m not going to do a movie review, but it’s about a couple who have been told they cannot have biological children (like us), and they are trying to adopt.

Well,  I have a good update today… I got an email, from DHR! Yay! The email said that our case worker finished writing up everything and now it is just waiting for approval! I have spoken on the phone (a few months back) directly to the supervisor that is to write off on our paperwork, so she knows how anxious we are to become foster parents.

Hopefully it won’t be much longer! THIS IS REAL YA’LL! Honestly, I have no idea how long it will sit on her desk for approval, but wouldn’t it be so cool if it happened this week?

We could be getting kids really soon! I think I’m getting ahead of myself.

I’m scared. It feels more ‘real’ now then it has before. I know this is just the beginning.

What if the kids hate us? What if they see us as the enemy? I’m trying so hard to remember all those classes we took 7 months ago. Why did this take so long? I feel like I’ve forgotten everything! I really need to read through our classroom materials for a refresher course.

This is crazy!

Pray for us. Pray for our family. Pray for the children. Pray for me. Please!

And, go watch “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”!

Teen Girls 205Here are my girls!  Aren’t they beautiful!

This is a story of two lovebirds who got in a little over their heads, or at times it feels that way, remodeling a little home built in the 1940's. Our journey has bumps and twists, ups and downs, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Please join us and our two poodles as we flip this old house and work towards the adoption of our first child!
